WE ALL LIVE IN A YELLOW .... Matt Parks and Neil took to the road early doors yesterday leaving Eastbourne, East Sussex as the Moon cast its luminosity over the UK. Their mission was to make a round trip of 600 miles heading North West to Merseyside and the city of Liverpool to collect and load a server framework from one of the corporate giants based in the city. The vehicle selected for the job was 'Big Yellow' one of several lorries on the expanding JWD fleet. Once loaded and refreshed Big Yellow and 'friends are all aboard' it was 'full steam ahead' heading South to East Sussex where the consignment was off-loaded. And the band begins to play. Henry Ford’s one-off Capri to be auctioned this week A 1981 Ford Capri built for Henry Ford II will be auctioned this week. It was kept for Ford’s use when he travelled to the UK, and is one of three vehicles modified especially for him. The Capri 2.8 injection started life being hand-picked off the Cologne production line, before undergoing a transformation that included additional layers of paint, stricter quality control and comfort features such as a C3 automatic transmission and wider, leather trimmed seats and door cards. Henry Ford II was the grandson of company founder, Henry Ford. He was also president of the company from 1945 to 1960, chief executive officer from 1945 to 1979, and chairman of the board of directors from 1960 to 1980. Plus he was responsible for projects including the GT40 and Mustang. UK Gov abandons plan to raise affordable housing threshold The government has U-turned on proposals to increase the threshold at which developers have to provide affordable housing on new-build schemes, after claims that the proposal would cause a sharp drop in affordable build rates. Melanie Rees, head of policy and external affairs at the Chartered Institute of Housing, said the move was “really welcome and very important” given the number of affordable homes – almost half – which came about via obligations in Section 106 agreements.
