PEEK A BOO - HOUSE PRICES RISE  AS COVID SPARKS RURAL RELOCATION House prices in the South West of England have risen fastest in the UK in the last year amid a Covid-related rethink by many homeowners. House prices rose by 6.4% in the year to the end of September, compared with a UK average rise of 4.7%, the Office for National Statistics (ONS) said. Land Registry data also shows that detached homes saw the biggest annual price rises in the UK. The pandemic has led some people to move to more rural locations. There was also some pent-up demand during the first national lockdown among those looking to relocate, which was released in the late summer and reflected in these newly-published ONS and Land Registry figures. BATTLING AGAINST THE FORCES  OF STORM AIDEN ON HALLOWEEN 2020 On a dark, cold and wet storm laden morning JWD team leader Matt accompanied by Michael set off on a two man removals mission leaving Eastbourne, early doors, to arrive in the port city of Plymouth, in Devon at 07:30 AM. The delightful customer needed to move out of their old home in Eastbourne on Friday and have the contents loaded and delivered to their new home in Plymouth on Saturday.  Matt and Michael drove the 540 miles, round journey, into the eye of Storm Aiden through the early morning and had the storm and floods to contend with across the entire return journey. Matt and Michael were soaked to the skin and likened it to training for the SAS. That aside Matt said, "I don't mind so much so long as the removals work keeps coming in I still have a job."
